How bidding works

Verified email bidding

Each painting starts at €50. The minimum bid step is €5. To place a bid, you sign in with your email and receive a one-time verification code. No password is needed.

Bidding closes on 10 October 2026 at 12:00 (Riga time). If a bid is placed in the final 5 minutes, the closing time for that painting extends by a further 5 minutes — check the countdown on each painting's page for its actual closing time.

Payment and delivery

After the auction closes

Winners will be notified by email once bidding closes on their lot, with a payment reference to include in your donation. If you attend the closing event, you can pay in cash directly at the Lielas Rūpes par Mazajiem donation point (”zirdziņš”) and take your painting home immediately. All other winning works will be carefully packed and delivered once payment is confirmed. Full details are in our Auction Terms and Conditions.

Charity payout

90%

After taxes, ninety percent of the auction proceeds will be donated to the initiative Lielas rūpes par mazajiem. The remaining ten percent may be retained by the artist to help cover the cost of materials and future work — or donated in full, at the artist's discretion.

A Latvian initiative that helps children who are in hospital without a parent or close caregiver beside them.

Lielas rūpes par mazajiem provides loving and competent caregivers for children who are being treated alone at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital in Riga.

The initiative was created on 5 February 2018 by Latvijas Kristīgā alianse bāreņiem. Its work supports children from social care institutions, foster and guardian families, adoptive families, and larger families when a child needs someone to stay close during hospital treatment.
