I am not lost, only hiding

Not everything that hides is lost.

I am not lost, only hiding captures the quiet moment when disappearing becomes a form of self-preservation. At first, the painting appears to be an almost empty winter landscape. Then two alert ears rise above the pale surface — hidden, but still listening.

The figure does not ask to be found. It remains close enough to observe, yet protected from whatever may be waiting beyond the stillness.

The painting carries shyness without weakness and solitude without complete absence. Its soft colours and restrained composition create a sense of winter silence, while the small sign of life brings warmth, mystery and playfulness into the cold.

Perhaps hiding is not always fear. Sometimes it is patience. Sometimes it is wisdom. Sometimes it is simply the space we need before we are ready to be seen again.
